Don’t be scared of the cold because it’s that time of year again-- time to get into the holiday spirit and see the beautiful light display at the 20th annual Holidazzle Parade! The Holidazzle parade is a tradition many Minnesotan's attend to get them in the holiday spirit. As many of you may know, the annual Holidazzle parade is not a one time show. It runs every Thursday through Sunday starting at 6:30pm between November 23 to December 23rd. The Holidazzle parade started in 1992, the same year the Mall of America opened to encourage shopping and dining in downtown Minneapolis. The parade attracts more than 300,000 people each season to Nicollet Mall from 12th street South to 4th street South. The Holidazzle parade is sponsored by Target and features several floats, a marching band, cold children and adults, and of course-- beautiful light displays covering everything. If you want to avoid the cold, you can watch the parade curbside or in the Holidazzle hotseats which are $9.00 tickets to be in a heated tent and have complimentary hot cocoa and apple cider.
Another popular destination many families see before or after the parade is on Macy's 8th floor to visit Santa. Each year, there is a “North Pole” holiday display which features animated displays, decorated trees, and of course a chance to sit on Santa’s lap. Perfect for snapping pictures of your kids with Santa after the Holidazzle parade.
So don't miss your chance--take a night one of these weekends and catch Target's annual Holidazzle parade with your family or friends, either by starting a new tradition or taking part in an old one!
